Bio
Hey! I'm Violet. I love to grow things and use them.😊
In my own research, I've found that many gardening sites bury the most important information in essay-length articles. As a lifelong writer, I sympathize with this. But when I want to know how much shade a plant tolerates or its container depth, I don't want to parse through anecdotes, irrelevant background information, or filler content. I just want the facts - the simple, practical facts I need to grow this plant.
There is a similar issue with most cooking and homesteading sites. Recipes are hidden underneath a lot of other information you didn't come there for! They also generally focus on more complicated recipes. Although I love to cook when I can, when I have a large harvest, I'm usually looking for something simpler. Harvesting already takes a lot of time and energy, and fresh produce and herbs are so superior to their supermarket counterparts in both taste and quality that they really shine with just simple pairings and preparation techniques. These still enhance the already-awesome flavors of the harvest without being so distracting, time-consuming, or overwhelming.
So this is the basis of Plant to Plate - simple growing tips with simple pairings or other ways to either use the harvest or save it for later. Over time, I will make other additions like longer articles on these and other closely-related subjects. But these will always be separate pages from the gardening facts and simple uses pages, and the facts and uses pages will always be easy to find and refer to.
I hope you enjoy Plant to Plate! Feel free to contact me with questions at info@planttoplate.net. And be sure to visit us on Pinterest and Etsy.
Happy growing and enjoying!

Some of our Further Reading articles contain affiliate links. If an article uses affiliate links, it will be indicated by a short disclosure at the top of the article.
Affiliate links pay us a very small commission for recommending a product via a direct affiliate link to that product at no additional cost to you.
For example, we might recommend a $30 product. That product would cost you $30 whether you found it on your own or we recommended it to you. But if you arrive on the page for that product via our affiliate link and then purchase that product, we might receive a $1 commission.
Affiliate links do not influence the products we recommend; research and quality do. All recommendations are genuine. These links are provided as a service to our readers and visitors, as they are direct links to products that we have thoroughly researched for your benefit, many of which we have purchased and used ourselves. This saves you time and searching.
